Over the weekend, I had an opportunity to relax before the Memphis Girls Basketball Fall Fest kicks off on August 22 with the Fall Exposure League. I visited Panama City Beach, FL.
It was an awesome experience to hang with family, relax on the beach and relieve my mind. I was so relaxed that I decided to try something a little different. I wanted to get back on a boat.
I hadn’t been on a boat since 2008. While in Jamaica, my dad convinced me to go deep sea fishing. Boy was that a mistake. We seemed to go out farther and farther to no where. The boat rocked and rocked and rocked and rocked. I begin to get sicker and sicker and sicker. It was such a bad experience that I vowed to never get on another boat again.
Well, I changed my mind. I decided that I wanted to do something different in Florida by getting on a boat. But not any boat. It had to be a boat bigger than what I was on in Jamaica. I didn’t want to just cruise along in the water. I wanted to go fast and the Sea Screamer seemed like the right boat for me.
I took my motion sickness medicine a hour before boarding the boat and it was smooth sailing from there. The boat went fast. The boat rocked and rocked and rocked. And it didn’t bother me one bit. I’m happy I overcame my fear of getting back on a boat.
