P-15 Workout: November 9, 2014

The P-15 Workout is an opportunity to get an extra 15 minutes of individual practice in before or after team practice. You decide if you want to do the workout everyday this week or come up with your own schedule.

This Week’s P-15 Workout: Mikan Drill. Make 25 shots on both sides of the goal. If necessary, make your 25 on the right side. Then 25 on the left side. If you are more advanced, perform the drill by alternating from the left to right side like the video below. If time is left over after making a total of 50 shots, shoot some layups on both the left and right side. Use the video to see how to perform the mikan drill.

On offense, make up in your mind that the person guarding you is not going to stop you from getting the ball, getting by them, or getting your shot off.

On defense, make up in your mind that the person you’re guarding will not get the ball, get a rebound, get a loose ball or get their shot off.

P-15 Workout: November 2, 2014

The P-15 Workout is an opportunity to get an extra 15 minutes of individual practice in before or after team practice. You decide if you want to do the workout everyday this week or come up with your own schedule.

This Week’s P-15 Workout: Form Flip. Make 20 shots in front of the goal. Then make 20 shots on both sides of the goal. For a total of 60 made shots. You should be standing about a step back from under the rim. After making the first 60 shots, take another step back and make 60 more in front of the rim and on both sides of the rim. Use the video below for shooting technique.
