The Memphis Lady Mambas had a busy spring and summer of basketball. They haven’t slowed down either. If they aren’t in the gym doing skill development, they are hosting intrasquad scrimmages.
As the summer is winding down and school has begun, the team is in preparation mode for the Fall evaluation period. The 2018, 2019, and 2021 squads will be heading to Kenosha, Wisconsin for The Fall Finale Powered by Eastbay event….. Yes, WISCONSIN! Coach AW Massey says that he likes for each class to take a unique trip.
You remember last year’s 2017 class. The one that featured Zaire Hicks (White Station/UT Martin), Teal Battle (White Station/Arkansas-Little Rock), and Erica Jones (Southaven/Kentucky State).
The 2018 team features tough combo guard Taylor Lattimore (Arlington), quick and explosive PG Tye Metcalf, three point bucket getting G Tan Metcalf, #MGBB 30/40 Club member SG Surina Finnie (PCA) and super athletic, energetic G Kealy Wilson (Horn Lake).
The summer went very well for two of their 2019 players, shake and bake PG Akeria James (Craigmont) and 5’10 scoring guard Ya’Taria Coleman (Southwind). Both came home from the July eval period to scholarship offers.
The future is looking bright with some talented up and comers, composed 2020 PG Brali Simmons (St. Agnes), creative finisher 2020 SG Christina Nichols (Arlington) and super intense and energetic 2021 G Zavia Harris (Southwind).
Great story!
Thank You!
